Тайская женщина в критическом состоянии после спасения из резервуара с асфальтом
A Thai woman remains in critical condition after being rescued from a tank of asphalt in the central province of Lop Buri yesterday, June 23. The circumstances that led to her being submerged in the tank remain unknown.
A 52 year old Thai man, Chanon, alerted officers from Khok Samrong Police Station and the Khok Samrong Songkhro Rescue Foundation after discovering a body in an asphalt tank beside Lam Laleng Road in the Khok Samrong district.
Chanon explained that the 200-litre tank belonged to a construction crew working on road renovations in the area and intended to use the asphalt for resurfacing.
Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered that the victim was a woman who was still alive. She had a shaved head and was submerged in the asphalt.
The rescue team initially attempted to extract her from the tank, but the substance was too sticky. As a result, the entire tank was transported to a hospital, where medical personnel administered first aid while rescuers continued their efforts to free her.
The team ultimately cut the tank in half and removed the womans clothing to finally pull her from the asphalt. Police later found her identification card in her clothes, confirming her identity as 47 year old Saranthorn. She remains in critical condition and is receiving close medical attention.
Residents told police they saw Saranthorn walking past a grilled chicken stall near the Ban Nong Khaem Community. Although she was not a known resident of the area, no one found her presence suspicious, assuming she was simply jogging.
Police reviewed footage from a nearby security camera and saw Saranthorn arrive at Phra Sri Rattana Pracharam Temple in the afternoon of Sunday, June 22, riding a brand-new sidecar motorcycle. She reportedly offered rice and the motorcycle to a monk before quickly leaving.
The monk later told Channel 3 that he was puzzled by the encounter and did not have the chance to speak with Saranthorn, as she rushed away after making the offering. The items she donated were left untouched, as the monks and other temple staff were suspicious and dared not interact with them.
Channel 7 also reported that the motorcycles sidecar contained tools for running a noodle shop, along with some food ingredients. No CCTV footage captured how Saranthorn ended up in the asphalt tank.
Police are currently attempting to contact her relatives to uncover the motive behind her unusual temple donation and how she came to be submerged in the tank.
