Заместитель мэра Паттайи наблюдает за завершающими этапами рекультивации общественных земель на улице Фотисан Сой 6
Pattaya, Thailand On June 25, 2025, Mr. Manoch Nongyai, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya, accompanied by Mr. Chukiat Nongyai, Assistant Secretary to the Mayor, conducted an on-site inspection to monitor the progress of reclaiming public land in Phothisan Soi 6. They were joined by officials from the Pattaya City Engineering Department, who provided updates on the operation.
Mr. Manoch revealed that the area in question is designated public land, long occupied by residents who built homes and businesses, leading to decades of complaints. Over the years, Pattaya City has negotiated with residents, most of whom cooperated and relocated. The city has since demolished most of the structures in the area, with only two remaining—a shop and its owner's residence. The owner has agreed to vacate once the city finalizes its road construction plans. Today's visit aimed to follow up on the removal of these final structures.
Despite the area being occupied since 1979, Mr. Manoch explained that the land is legally registered as public property for communal use. The city issued a final notice to the shop's owner, an elderly woman, to relocate by today. She complied willingly, having nearly completed moving her belongings. The next steps include removing the remaining residents from the household registry and canceling the house numbers. In a gesture of goodwill, Mr. Manoch and Mr. Chukiat personally provided financial assistance to the elderly couple to help cover their relocation costs.
The reclaimed public land will be used to construct a road connecting Phothisan Soi 6 to Soi 8 and Soi 3, aimed at easing traffic congestion from Pattaya Third Road to Naklua. The planned road will be approximately 8 meters wide internally and 6 meters at the entrance. Once drainage systems are completed next year, construction will begin, enhancing traffic flow in the Naklua area and allowing the public to fully utilize this communal space.
This initiative reflects Pattaya City's commitment to restoring public land for community benefit while supporting affected residents during the transition.
