Chonburi, Thailand On June 23, 2025, CCTV footage captured a man dressed in a long-sleeved, green military camouflage shirt breaking into a waste recycling factory in Moo 3 in Takhian Tia in Banglamung.

The suspect stole over 300 meters of PVD electrical cables and cut the signal wire of a CCTV camera, causing significant damage to the facility. The factory management promptly reported the incident to the police, providing the CCTV evidence.

On June 29, 2025, police from Bang Lamung Police Station, led by Deputy Superintendent Lt. Col. Kornphong Sukvisith and Investigation Chief Capt. Wutthipong Kasa, apprehended the suspect, identified as Mr. Zeena Zuan, a 40-year-old Cambodian national. The arrest took place after the suspect attempted to flee from a police patrol on a white Honda PCX motorcycle. Seized items included the motorcycle, the green camouflage shirt, a pair of wire cutters, and a headlamp flashlight.

The suspects erratic behavior and incoherent speech during the arrest raised suspicions. A urine test revealed traces of methamphetamine, prompting the patrol team to hand him over to the investigation unit for further questioning. Coincidentally, the investigation team was already tracing the culprit behind the factory theft. Mr. Zeena was arrested less than one kilometer from the crime scene, and a comparison with the factorys CCTV footage confirmed his identity.

Under interrogation, Mr. Zeena confessed to the theft, admitting he climbed into the factory to steal cables because he needed money to buy methamphetamine. He sold the stolen cables for 800 baht, which he used to purchase the drug. He also admitted to attempting to flee from the police, aware of his prior crime, but was ultimately caught.

Police have taken Mr. Zeena to reconstruct the crime scene as part of his confession. He faces charges of theft and drug use, with further legal proceedings underway.
