Таиланд готовится к сильным дождям в 49 провинциях
The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) issued a weather warning for today, July 3, forecasting heavy rain across 49 provinces in Thailand, including Bangkok, where 70% of the area is expected to experience significant rainfall.
Residents are advised to be cautious of potential dangers such as flash floods and mudslides, particularly in northern, northeastern, and eastern regions.
This weather pattern results from a strong monsoon trough crossing the upper north and northeastern regions, affecting lower Laos and central Vietnam.
Additionally, a moderate southwest monsoon continues to cover the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. Mariners are advised to exercise caution, especially in areas with thunderstorms, as waves could exceed 2 metres.
The northern region is expected to see thunderstorms over 70% of the area, with heavy rain in provinces such as Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Phitsanulok. Temperatures will range from 22C to 32C.
The northeastern region will experience similar conditions, with heavy rain predicted in provinces like Loei and Ubon Ratchathani.
In the central region, including provinces like Nakhon Sawan and Ayutthaya, 70% of the area will face thunderstorms, with temperatures between 23C and 34C.
The eastern region is forecasted to have 80% thunderstorms, with heavy rain in provinces like Chon Buri and Rayong. Waves in this area could also rise above two metres during storms.
The southern region (eastern coast), including Phetchaburi and Surat Thani, will see 60% of the area affected by thunderstorms. Temperatures here will range from 23C to 35C.
Similarly, the southern region (western coast), including provinces like Ranong, will experience thunderstorms in 60% of the area, with significant rainfall in some parts. Waves in the Andaman Sea are expected to reach up to 2 metres, reported KhaoSod.
Bangkok and its vicinity will face thunderstorms in 70% of the area, with heavy rain predicted in some locations. Temperatures will vary between 24C and 33C.
The department urges all residents to remain vigilant and prepared for sudden weather changes that could lead to hazardous conditions.
